The new pedestrian bridge over Leverett Circle in Boston, Massachusetts, next to the Museum of Science and the MBTA Green Line’s Science Park Station will be a steel circular bridge supported by slender conical columns. This bridge is contemporary and streamlined in appearance with a unique asymmetrical box superstructure that will be the first of its kind in the United States. The bridge will appear to be suspended over the busy intersection and connect directly to the train station. The transparency of the bridge and minimum number of columns supporting curved ramps allow for uninterrupted views of the Esplanade, Charles River, and adjacent historic structures, including the 1910 arched Lechmere Viaduct. The new bridge will act as a visual terminus to Storrow Drive and Esplanade Park.
