The bridge will connect a new Oracle Corporation campus to Germantown, a residential neighborhood across the Cumberland River near downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The River North Bridge will help transform the East Bank of the Cumberland River by creating a signature structure visible from the campus buildings and adjacent neighborhoods. The proposed bridge will cross the river on a diagonal, creating a fluid and exciting journey across the water with a variety of changing views of the riverfront and cityscape. An arch with an S-shaped configuration complements and balances an S-shaped bridge alignment, creating an infinity symbol that appears as a sideways number eight when seen from above. The highest point of the arch will be located at the center of the river. The bridge will have a clear span with no supports in the water, which will improve constructability and allow for ease of navigation.
