The proposed Lakefront Connector Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge will be located near the delta of the Cuyahoga River at Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. The bridge will connect the city’s downtown to Wendy Park and the Cleveland waterfront. This innovative truss bridge will echo many of the historic truss bridges in the area, but will have a lighter, more slender appearance. The bridge has a main span over railroad tracks and existing roadways. The footbridge will remind users of the many sailboats on Lake Erie and at Wendy Island Marina. The inverted truss structural system will be a great addition to the diverse collection of bridges around Cleveland. The new bridge will become a critical link to Cleveland’s waterfront and regional trail system.
