An elegant and slender steel cable-stayed pedestrian bridge was built as part of the Revere Transit Facility and Streetscape Project. It has become an important link to historic Revere Beach—America’s first public beach, established in 1896. A pair of outward-inclined towers frame access to the beach providing enhanced and open views of the water. The bridges’ stainless-steel pedestrian railings are inclined to match the towers. The towers are visible from a distance and mark the crossing over Ocean Avenue and the adjacent residential community. The bridge is attractive and streamlined with carefully detailed connections. Aesthetic lighting enhances the night experience for all users. The bridge has become a catalyst for the redevelopment of the area.
