The pedestrian swing bridge will be a cable-supported structure with a span over the Sheboygan River. The innovative swing movable bridge will have two points of rotation marked by tall steel towers. The bridge follows an S-curve creating an attractive path and view corridor that smoothly connects entry points to the crossing, which are not aligned. The proposed walking surface will be hard treated wood planks for lightness and pedestrian appeal. The bridge railings will be curved in profile and very transparent to allow for unobstructed views of the harbor and Lake Michigan. This will be an iconic, light, and elegant bridge that will become a symbol for the city of Sheboygan.
